Introducing Pierson Jacob Layer !!!

Pierson was born at 2:21am on Monday August 7th, 2006 (8/7/06) weighing 7 Pounds and was 20 1/2 inches long. Kate did great once again, having the baby without any medication or interventions. He was delievered by Beth Broderson. Beth is a certified nurse/midwife who delievered Maggie and is a gifted lady. The amazing thing is that for many years now Beth has cancer and is now in hospice care. Yet, in spite of everything, she still works and came out especially to deliever Kate. It was an overwhelming example of God's grace to us.

As you can see, the kids love their little brother and have enjoyed holding him. Their excitement made it even so more special.

Kate's mom and dad came up during the weekend to help and thinking that the baby would come soon. These pictures are from this morning.

Even though the kids were excited about Pierson, SpongeBob always gets their attention.

Kate hopes to get out tomorrow afternoon. SHe is well and resting comfortably. Dad plans to get the kids to bed early tonight and get some rest. Kate's mom Nancy will be staying with us for the week. Thank you for your prayers. God still does miracles every day if we have eyes to see.

We celebrated Pierson's birth with an East Tennessee tradition. Instead of cigars, our kids went door to door to our Beeson neighbors and passed out Krispe Kreme Donuts. It was a special way to celebrate!

Welcome Pierson! Great name..Sounds better than Levi I think ;o) I love seeing the whole family welcoming the newest addition. Should be good fun the rest of the summer.
Here in the D, that would be Detroit, Krispy Kreme has gone out of business. So if you wouldn't mind, I could really use that donut!
Don't make me come down there and get it....
